Architectural & Building Acoustics

Architectural acoustics relating to interior acoustics design and treatment for reverberation control, avoidance of flutter echoes, and interior finish rendering for acoustic ambience.

Design and solutions for acoustic absorption, sound diffusion and reflections. Typical spaces are cinema, auditorium, convention halls, exhibition halls, large convocation halls, ballrooms and banquet halls, indoor stadiums, amphitheatre, meeting rooms, mosques, multi-purpose halls, atrium and studios.

Building acoustics relating to sound insulation of building elements. These include roofs (and in particular rainfall impact and sound insulation of light weight roofing construction), floor slabs, party walls and partitions, glazing and doors. Typical buildings are convention and exhibition centres, conference halls and auditorium complex, hotels, commercial buildings, retail centres, education institutions, and specialised laboratories. Glazing analysis and selection of glazing for buildings, airports, etc. from vehicle traffic, LRT, trains and aircraft noise.

Acoustics input cover all stages of the project: conceptual design, detailed design development, specifications, tendering and procurement, selection and approval of materials, supervision of implementation works, and check out tests. Where required, assistance in materials and mock-up testing in laboratories (UTM or third party) and on site.

Experience includes convention and exhibition centres, university great halls (convocation centres), auditorium, corporate head office, hotels, indoor stadiums, multi-purpose halls, mosques, university development, and acoustic laboratories.
